Since 2003, Erin Saddlemire has been providing quality dance instruction in a variety of studio settings and workshop venues. Her technical foundations are rooted in Modern Dance Methods, as well as Ballet and Jazz. She also teaches and choreographs Musical Theatre, Creative Movement, and Beginner Tap. Erin explores dance training with her students, but also includes research in dance that leads to composition projects, interdisciplinary learning through dance, and Improvisational exploratories.
She emphasizes the importance of dance history as well as gaining a strong sense of self. She encourages students to find deep comprehension in anatomy and kinesiology. Erin also teaches at Dynamic Dance and Movement in Endwell, NY and instructs dancers at LINK Movement Arts Center in Elmira, NY.
Erin graduated from the Hartford Conservatory in 2003 with a double major in Dance Pedagogy and Dance Performance. She returned to school in 2012, the same year she founded Purely Technique. Erin received her Bachelor's Degree in Arts with a Concentration in Dance from SUNY Empire State College. She received multiple scholarships during her studies, while simultaneously directing and providing movement instruction through Purely Technique.
Erin has completed the Level I Mat Comprehensive through PEAK Pilates. She teaches Pilates Mat and Pilates Barre classes at Pilates on the Avenue in Endicott, NY, Pilates Mat at The Pilates Salon in Endwell NY, and Dance Fusion At Lourdes Health and Fitness in Johnson City, NY. Erin performs with many community organization including Sharing Space Dance Collective based out of Elmira, NY.
Erin can be hired for private or class instruction, movement therapy sessions, composition consultation, and various chorographical projects.
